According to Healthline.com, “sixty percent of the
adult population in the United States will experience some type of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) within a 12 month period and 20 to 30 percent have weekly symptoms.” One of the most common afflictions today, GERD, can cause weight loss, vomiting, and anemia among other discomfort and pain. The increased prevalence of heartburn and acid reflux among the United States population is incredible.
From 1998 to 2005, primary and secondary GERD diagnosis increased by 216 percent. This increase can be attributed to sedentary lifestyles and diet among other things. However, what if someone told you that your days of taking daily medications and suffering from heartburn were over?
